Read More: anne marie, muslim islam, islam and jihad, extremism, muslims, sharia, religion, religions, terrorism, islam, peace, video <br /><br />The video shows Muslim journalist Mehdi Hasan, political editor of the Huffington Post doing a brilliant job of proving how Islam is a religion of peace in a debate with Anne-Marie Waters whose argument stated otherwise. <br /><br />Anne-Marie Waters, council member of the National Secular Society, listed the events of"9/11, 7/7, Mali, Somalia, gender discrimination, forced marriages, polygamy, amputation" among other incidences of extremism. <br /><br />Hasan during his turn asked why, they feel Islam is "responsible for killing," when it’s just a small percentage of believers that are actually guilty of violence. He wanted to know if people really believed that 1.6 billion people are all "followers, promoters and believers in a religion of violence". <br /><br />Hasan also urged them not to "fuel the arguments of the phobes and bigots and legitimize hate", but to "trust the Muslims that you know and that you hear." <br /><br />The result of the debate: <br /><br />People voted in favor of the motion: This House Believes Islam Is a Religion of Peace with 286: 168 votes! <br /><br />Carbonated.TV
